BOULDER TOMORROW’S MISSION is to promote the long-term economic vitality of the Boulder Valley by providing a balanced and sensible voice for the business community.
WHO WE ARE
Boulder Tomorrow is a coalition of over 50 local businesses, organizations and individuals who are concerned with the issues that impact our quality of life and business climate. We are non-partisan and not-for-profit; we exist because our members care about the future of this community. We are presidents of companies, professors, realtors and small business owners. Our members are an integral part of the community through their professional lives and through their service on boards and commissions. Our Board of Directors.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Boulder Tomorrow believes in common sense solutions and is founded upon the core principles of sensible government and responsible economic development that creates stable well paying jobs in the community.
Those common sense solutions are grounded in:
- The concept that quality of life begins with a secure job and a stable economy
- That government, no matter how well intentioned, can be a financial burden on the community it serves
- That local government budgets should be directed to providing basic services
WHAT WE DO
We monitor issues and share information with our members, the media, and local government. We publish electronic newsletters, maintain a website and publish special reports on especially important issues. We have been instrumental in guiding many public policy debates and elections to sensible solutions for the whole community.
There is no shortage of organizations in the City of Boulder and in Boulder County who promote government programs with increased burdens on the business community through regulations, ordinances, fees and taxes. Sometimes these policies hurt economic development and the ability of the community to attract and retain businesses.
We advocate for you in a variety of ways:
- Providing a voice for the business community
- Advocating for policies and positions favorable to business
- Monitoring candidates and ballot items in local elections
- Taking positions on issues before city and county governments through research papers, forums and public presentations
- Acting as a resource for elected representatives and staff regarding complex decisions
Boulder Tomorrow also hosts quarterly breakfast meetings on timely issues. At those breakfasts we provide expert speakers representing viewpoints which are under-represented in the community.
Our goal is to provide strategic thinking and facilitate fully informed decision-making on issues important to our community.
